Why Lira is divorcing?

Cape Town – South African singer Lira has announced that she is separating from her husband and manager, Robin Kohl.

The Voice SA coach said that she is living separately from her husband in a post on Instagram, that was uploaded late on Friday night. 

Lira’s husband of many years was Robin Kohl. He is a renowned producer best known for his work on projects like Return To Love (Deluxe Edition), Lira: The Captured Tour – Concert Film (2012), Man in the Street (2013), and From Scratch (2020). 

Besides being a producer, Robin Kohl is also a creative director, a studio and live engineer, a concert promoter, a talent manager, and an entrepreneur. 

The couple who were also business partners first met in 2004. After dating for about five years, they got married on the 9th of September 2009 in a private destination wedding in Mauritius that was reportedly attended by only 15 immediate family members.

During their marriage, Lira and Robin Kohl were one of those IT couples that we all love to see. They worked together, traveled together, and even appeared for interviews together. Besides being her husband, Robin Kohl was also Lira’s talent manager. 

Sadly, shortly before the couple celebrated their 10th anniversary, they went their separate ways.

In July 2019, Lira took to Instagram to announce that she had parted ways with her husband of many years and that they were living separately as they tried to figure out the way forward in their marriage.

News of Lira’s separation hit many by surprise since, until Lira’s announcement, there had been no signs of trouble in paradise. In most cases, Lira and her husband only sang praises for each other.

In the statement that she shared on Instagram, Lira asked her fans for privacy as she and Robin Kohl dealt with their separation and reaffirmed that the bond they had formed during their marriage and work partnership would never be broken.
