Borderlands movie 2024 film? We’ve had to wait a while, but we’ve finally got the first trailer for the long-delayed Borderlands movie. Based on the award-winning game of the same name, the film stars Cate Blanchett as Lilith, an outlaw who returns to her home planet Pandora in search of Atlas’ (Edgar Ramirez) missing daughter. Lilith forms an unlikely alliance with a team of outcasts including former elite mercenary Roland (Kevin Hart), feral pre-teen demolitionist Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), Tina’s protector Krieg (Florian Munteanu), scientist with a loose grip on sanity Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis) and wiseass robot Claptrap (Jack Black). Borderlands will finally arrive in cinemas later this year on August 9. Lionsgate To tease the first trailer’s release, we were treated to the first-look at the characters yesterday (February 20), highlighting the movie’s impressive all-star cast. In one of the images Blanchett can be seen embodying the famous outlaw Lilith, wearing an impressive side swept red wig which is paired with a dusty combat style outfit and an enormous gun. Another image shows the assembled gang of misfits peering down some sort of manhole in buckled outfits that loosely match Lilith’s. Directing Borderlands is Death Wish and Thanksgiving‘s Eli Roth, who previously spoke about his excitement to work with the cast, specifically reuniting with Cate Blanchett. He said: “We had the most incredible collaboration together on The House with a Clock in Its Walls, and I believe there’s nothing she can’t do. From drama to comedy and now action, Cate makes every scene sing. “Working with her is truly a director’s dream come true, and I feel so fortunate that I get to do it again on an even bigger scale.” Borderlands is released in cinemas on August 9.
