November Awareness Months
Started in 2003, this annual event involves growing moustaches to raise awareness about important men’s health issues such as testicular cancer, prostate cancer, and suicide prevention. Movember advocates early cancer detection and diagnosis. Since its inception, the Movember Foundation has raised over $837 million.
Islamophobia Awareness Month (UK)
Founded in 2012, this November awareness month hopes to educate the public about the positive contributions Muslims have made to British society. Its hope is to facilitate connections between Muslims and non-Muslims through storytelling.
Disability History Month (UK)
This annual observance focuses on the history of the disability rights movement. November commemorates the achievements of people living with disabilities and raises awareness of the challenges that they face. Established in 2010, it’s a great time to review workplace accessibility practices.
National Veterans and Military Families Month
First celebrated in 1996, National Veterans and Military Families Month celebrates the hundreds of thousands of veterans and their families. They make daily sacrifices whether they are active duty, in the National Guard, or in the Army Reserve. The Defense Department honors the 5.2 million service members and their families by thanking them for their service and support on a daily basis.
National Family Caregivers Month
This month honors family caregivers and opens discussions on caregiving topics, including the need for support. This year’s theme is “Caregiving Around The Clock.”
National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month
Over six million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s Disease and 3 million new cases are diagnosed annually. The condition is deadlier than breast cancer and prostate cancer. This November awareness month is a time to raise awareness about early signs of Alzheimer’s like mild cognitive impairment.
National Diabetes Awareness Month
Diabetic eye disease is the leading cause of blindness and oftentimes has no warning signs. Help people with diabetes to prevent vision loss by helping to raise awareness about regular eye exams. During November, the National Eye Health Education Program spreads the word about how people living with diabetes can help protect their vision.

Hindu Heritage Month (Canada)
First celebrated in 2022, Hindu Heritage Month celebrates the contributions that Hindu Canadians have made to their country. With nearly 830,000 Hindu Canadians, it hopes to raise awareness about their unique culture.
Native American Heritage Month
First declared a month of recognition in 1990 by President George H.W. Bush, this November heritage month celebrates Indigenous Peoples in the United States.
