What areas are affected by the Rand water shutdown? JOHANNESBURG – There are just a few hours to go before Rand Water’s planned 58-hour shutdown, with residents being urged to stock up. One of the bulk water supplier’s major pipelines will be worked on for four days, from Tuesday until Friday Affected areas include Sandton, Soweto, Randburg, Roodepoort, and Ennerdale. Planned work commencing from 19:00 on 11 July will result in reduced supply to the Rand Water Daleside Booster station. The water supply will be reduced by 50% for a period of eight hours. It is estimated that once the work is completed, full recovery of the water supply will take an additional 24 hours.Affected areas include:Dreiziek, Lakeside, Orange Farm, Stretford, Ennerdale South, Ennerdale Extensions, Finetown, Grasmere, Mid-Ennerdale, Lawley Extensions, and Lawley Estate.
