When did the Jub Jub accident happen? JOHANNESBURG -Family members of the schoolchildren killed and injured in the crash involving musician Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye and Themba Tshabalala broke down in the Protea Magistrates Court on Thursday. Day 2 of judgment in the murder trial got underway in court. Maaronhanye and Tshabalala are facing charges of murder, attempted murder, and reckless driving, amongst others, after they crashed their Mini Coopers in Soweto in 2010. Four school pupils were killed and several others were injured. It was an emotional second day of judgment in court, with family members weeping as Magistrate Brian Nemavhidi read a pathology report of what happened during the accident. Recalling his statement, Nemavhidi said the pupils were struck at a high speed. He said the accident was severe enough to cause a near decapitation in one of the victims. The court was also hearing evidence presented by the defense after summarising the testimonies of 25 state witnesses.
