While Ferguson may be ahead in terms of total league titles, Guardiola has undoubtedly made the most of his time in the English top flight and can boast a more impressive record if we were to break it down to team performances per game. For example, while Ferguson can boast an impressive return of 2.16 points per game over the course of 810 top-flight games, Guardiola’s current average after managing less than a half of that amount of games stands at 2.36 points per game. Similarly, the Man City manager’s win percentage stands at a mighty 75%, which is considerably higher than Ferguson’s 65%.

Naturally, much of that will be down to the fact that Ferguson’s tenure in the Premier League was twice as long as Guardiola’s current stint, but it goes some way to showing just how dominant Man City has been since the Spaniard arrived at the club. Whether that dominance will continue in the coming years and if Guardiola can keep his average about the Man Utd legend’s own return remains to be seen
