Cristiano Ronaldo was officially confirmed as Al Nassr’s new captain ahead of his Saudi Pro League debut on Sunday.
Al Nassr had previously been captained by 29-year-old defender Abdullah Madu, who has been at the club since 2012.
But Ronaldo was listed as captain on Sunday’s teamsheet to face Ettifaq.
Madu was also named in the starting
Ronaldo had captained a Riyadh all-star XI in a 5-4 loss to Paris Saint-Germain three days earlier.
Madu was an unused substitute in that exhibition match.
