I have 13 years of working experience in the public sector and government in general.
I sarted working in NUMSA Eastern Cape as the Regional Labour Coordinator responsibe for the capacity building of NUMSA members and officials from from 2005 – 2006. My role was to facilitate training in Labour law focusing on Skills Development Act, Labour Relations, Employment Equity Act and Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
In 2006 – 2014 I worked in MERSETA Eastern Cape where i workerd as the Skills Development Advisor in large, medium and small companies in the Manufacuring, Engineering and Tyre Sectors ensuring that these companies implement skills programs, learnerships and graduate development programs through workplace skills plan and recover mandatory and discovery grants until i resigned in 2014.
In 2014 -2015 i worked in SALGA Northern Cape where i worked as the Human Resource and Skills Development Advisor responsible for the capacity building of municipalities on behalf of SALGA as the employer association in local government sector. My role was to coordinate workshops on HR and Skills Support i.e. Job Evaluations, Perffomance evaluations, Job Grading and Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Reports.Further responsible for stakeholder coordination and represent SALGA in Provincial Skills Forums.
In 2015 – 2019 I worked in RSA Parliament, National Assembly as the Member of Parliament. I served in the Employment and Labour Portfolio responsible for legislation making and oversiht to state entities and further holding the executivea accountable in terms of Financial controls, Human Resource and Administration and leadership responsibilitie until i resigned.
Currently, since 2021 i am the External Presiding Officer in the Western Cape Education Department where I chair disciplinary enquiries against educators on the alleged Misconduct and Incapacity.This is teh consulation based contract which expires in 2025 however it is based on need and availability.
